Australian Society Sports History - The Grand Final That Split WA Football
Event Location: The Game Sports Bar (upstairs), 90 Aberdeen St, Northbridge
Event Description:
Event Description:
Ten thousand fans who turned up to the Claremont Showground for the 1907 Grand Final between Perth and East Fremantle got more than they bargained for.
It was a hard fought encounter which had a sensational sequel on the following Tuesday night, with ramifications for years to come.
PETER KENNEDY will retrace the events which were revived when the two clubs again clashed in the 1955 grand final - Merv McIntosh's last game with Perth and Jack Sheedy's last with East Fremantle. It was also a nail biter, and Peter was there.
