Vale Ross Millson

Thursday, November 15, 2018 - 2:30 PM

It is with great sadness that Perth Football Club has been advised by the Millson family that dual premiership player Ross Millson passed away on Wednesday, November 14 aged 71 years.

A skilful all-round footballer, Millson played 103 league games for the Demons between 1967 and 1974, including a premiership in his debut season when he featured on a half forward flank in the 18.12 (120) to 15.12 (102) Grand Final win over East Perth.

In the following year’s Grand Final victory against the same opponent, he was among his side’s best players as a wingman, showcasing his skills alongside the likes of Barry Cable, Ian Miller and Bob Shields in a star-studded line-up.

Strong overhead, an accurate right foot kick, and very elusive, Millson also played three interstate games for Western Australia, and might well have played more had it not been for injuries.

The Perth Football Club sends its condolences to the family, friends and former teammates of Ross Millson.

Ross is survived by his Wife Joan, daughter Carrie and grandchildren Estella, Damain and Maitland.
