QUICK CHATS WITH CODY LEGGETT

Friday, June 28, 2019 - 10:23 AM

As we head into the Round 12 clash against East Perth, we had a quick chat with Cody Leggett to get his take on the 2019 season so far.

How do you think the season is going so far?

I think it is going well compared to years gone by. We are playing a good brand of football. The last few weeks we have struggled a little bit, but I think that we are playing good patches at least.

What is your goal for the rest of the season?

The goal is to win as many games as we can to hopefully get us into finals. We need to start by winning this weekend.

What is your highlight of the season so far?

The comeback win against Swan Districts. I thought the boys really played well. It was a tough game to come back from. We were down by 30-odd points or something.

What are two main things you and the team have learned this season?

We have learned what we are capable of as a group. Obviously coming back from that much in the Swan game. We also got a reality check, from winning five games in a row and then playing some patches that we weren’t great for a bit and losing those games.

What is the biggest thing you and the team try to keep in mind going into a game?

Just playing our role. If you are a forward, back or mid, you know what role you need to do. If everyone is playing their role we get the win in the end.

Round 12 is the ‘Beyond Blue’ Round. What does supporting this mean to you and the boys?

It means a lot to us. Obviously being a part of the Outside the Locker Room program that the Club does at the moment we have learned a lot. I personally don’t know what it is like to have depression or anything like that, but it is great being given the tools and knowing what to do if someone does live with it. It is also great getting that awareness out for people.
