Football Department: Pre-Season Update

Recruitment Update

Recruiting for 2020 began in June of 2019. The recruitment committee worked to identify gaps in the list and put into place processes and targets to fill these gaps.

This allowed Club to be armed with a targeted recruitment strategy for the 2020 season.

The Perth Football Club has recruited the following players for 2020:

Ryan Murphy

A midfielder/ half back with good skills and an ability to provide run and delivery to the forward line.

Kieran Delahunty

A key forward from the NEFL, Delahunty is a tall, mobile forward who we expect a high level of scoring potential from.

Chris Masten

Masto was a targeted recruit for the Club. We expect him to fill a gap following CJ’s retirement with his on and off-field leadership, running capacity and significant experience.

Pre-Season Dates

The new recruits, graduating Colts and second years commenced training on 11^th November.

The whole group commences pre-season tonight and will break up for the Christmas and New Year period from 19/12/2019 until 13/01/2020.

2020 Fixtures

The Club expects to receive draft fixtures from the WAFC in early December, with final fixtures available for release by mid-December.

Throughout the fixturing process the Club has committed to working with the WAFC to obtain fixtures that allow us to utilise the facilities at Mineral Resources Park to their full abilities.
