Rogers accepts three match sanction: Match Panel Review Update

Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 3:38 PM

Matt Rogers has accepted a three (3) match sanction for rough conduct on Morgan Davies (East Fremantle) during the WAFL League game at New Choice Homes Park on Saturday, August 8.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct, high impact and high contact.

Under the table of penalties the offence was classified as a four (4) match sanction. An early guilty plea enabled the player to reduce the penalty to a three (3) match sanction.

"We're all understandably disappointed that Matt will be missing from the side for the next three rounds," Trevor Williams, Football Operations Manager, stated.

"We do, however, understand that these actions won't be tolerated by the competition and we are disappointed in the action. What we're focussing on right now is that there is an opportunity for someone else to step up in the senior side this weekend against West Perth."

"Matt is heavily disappointed. His form has been outstanding, and we know he will continue to work hard and be back playing good footy."
