WAFL Manager Cameron Knapton thanked all WAFL members and supporters for embracing the State League competition on WA Day.
“It was great to see more than 15,000 WAFL fans attend games on WA Day. Combined with a strong crowd of just over 2500 at Lathlain Park on Saturday, this was a great result for the WAFL,” he said.
“We also saw significant traffic on social media and the WAFL website (38,186 unique visitors) as people engaged in what is a very even and exciting competition.
“We hope the strong support for the WAFL continues as we enter the second half of the season, with all teams still a chance to play finals footy.”
This weekend sees four games scheduled for the traditional 2.05pm timeslot on Saturday afternoon including:
East Fremantle v Peel Thunder (East Fremantle Oval)
Perth v East Perth (Lathlain Park)
Swan Districts v Subiaco (Steel Blue Oval)
Claremont v West Perth (Claremont Showgrounds)
