Preseason Training Update From Tyson Beattie
The Post-Christmas return has seen another big surge in improvement for the Perth Football Club as the squad prepares for the 2015 season. There has been excellent numbers on the track and big gains in conditioning levels with improvements seen in a majority of the team’s three kilometre time trials.
The addition of three outstanding recruits from Peel has been a major boost for the squad. Toby Giannati has shown his strength and endurance already throughout preseason and will be an excellent addition to the backline. Liam Mckenna has settled quickly and is already impressing with his foot skills and decision making in training drills. Kelvin Lawrence, the former Melbourne listed speedster has demonstrated his lightening pace and silky skills and will provide another damaging weapon in the forward line.
Former Swan Districts premiership player Brett Wolfenden has also been outstanding and has hardly missed a session. Returning veterans Chance Bateman and Mitch Morton have shown excellent leadership and are set for big years. Another leader who has been brilliant is Chris Billings who has committed to the club by signing another contract, along with former Port Adelaide listed local product Jarrad Irons.
The coaches have been pleased with the gains in fitness led by strength and conditioning coach Frank Rodriguez and are excited to implement the game plan which will lead us to success this season.
