Round 4 Preview Perth V Peel Thunder
This week Perth takes on Peel Thunder Perth in round four of the 2015 McDonalds WAFL Premiership season.
Last week an inexperienced Demons team went down by 79-points to West Perth. The Demons were missing regular league players Jarryd Morton, Chance Bateman, Mitch Morton and captain Dene White.
Aidan Tropiano (36 disposals, 7 tackles) continued his great start to the season but the contributors on the day were few and far between with only Callum Collard (three goals), Liam McKenna (25 possessions, 6 tackles, 1 goal) and Jacob Payne having an impact.
Last week Peel put in a commanding performance defeating East Fremantle by 55-points in former Demon Brendan Jones’s 200th WAFL appearance. The milestones don’t stop for Jones this week as he will be playing his 100th game for the Thunder after making 101 appearances for the Demons.
This match will also see former Perth player Gerald Ugle come up against his former club for the first time.
Perth (reserves) last week recorded their first win of the season when they beat West Perth by 18-points.
Michael Florio (24 disposals, 5 marks, 3 I50) continued his case for a recall to the league team while there were also good performances from Kane Ransted (22 possessions, 8 marks, 6 I50, 3 goals), Blake Borrett (20 disposals, 27 hitouts) and Sean Holland (three goals).
Peel (reserves) last week continued their winless start to 2015 going down to East Fremantle by 41-points.
In a closely fought game the Perth (colts) narrowly went down by 13-points against the Falcons while Peel (colts) lost to East Fremantle by 42-points last week.
Kayle Phillips (23 possessions), Ben Cable (20 disposals) and Chapman Jones (20 possessions, 5 I50, 1 goal) were all impressive and the team will look to them to continue their good form on Saturday.
