Auskick Gala Day
Mineral Resources Park was at capacity for the Auskick Gala day on Sunday 13th of June. The Perth Football Club in conjunction with the WAFC’s Perth District Development Officer, Gabby Simmonds, hosted all 11 junior football clubs Auskick programs from the Perth Demons metropolitan zone.
Belmont, Gosnells, Huntingdale, Manning, Maddington, Lynwood-Ferndale, Kenwick, Thornlie, South Perth, Redcliffe and Victoria Park.
With 38 teams representing the 11 Junior Football Clubs in the metropolitan area there were up to 400 Auskickers involved in matches across the morning against fellow Perth zoned clubs. Perth senior footballers- Josh Smith, Brady Grey, Corey Yeo, Zac Sanderson, Oscar Bird, Fraser Barns, Liam Dellamarta, Mitch Mcilleny, Fraser McInnes and Oscar Morcombe lent a hand at helping coach and umpire the teams.
With former club captain, Corey Yeo a popular figure who seemed to enjoy the brisk Sunday morning ‘It’s great to see so many clubs down here represented in such strong numbers by their Auskick programs, as well as plenty of the senior playing group giving up their time on the bye weekend to give back to the pathways a lot of them progressed through’.
