Chris Mayne joins Coaching Ranks
Perth Football Club are thrilled to appoint Chris Mayne to the Coaching Panel for 2022.
Chris returns to the club after 248 AFL games with Fremantle and Collingwood, with a passion to coach and return to the club he was drafted from.
“Chris’s main focus will be in the Development Area working across our Development Squads and Senior program. He will take responsibility for our ‘Rising Redlegs’ Program and Emerging Leaders Program which are designed to fast track the internal talent of the Perth Football Club. We are excited that Chris has chosen to return the Perth. He will be a terrific ambassador for the Club and help drive our continued quest for sustained success imparting his immense knowledge of the game with our emerging players.” said Trevor Williams
“I’m extremely proud to be returning to the Perth football club, which along with Belmont football club, is where my AFL journey began. Now 14 years later, I’m back and ready to steer the next group of young players to achieving their goals.” Mayne said.
“Being back at Perth gives me the opportunity to continue to improve my craft as a teacher and coach. Being able to work with the Futures and Colts and younger senior players will allow me to showcase my ability to develop young players while giving me the opportunity to hone in on my craft and prepare me for future opportunities.
I’ll be able to bring 14 years of AFL experience to the club and share the knowledge of working with a lot of great coaches and players.
I’m really excited about what the future brings, the Reserves won the flag this year and League played finals 2 years ago, I have a strong belief that the club is heading in the right direction and I hope I can add to that.”
Welcome back home Chris.
