The Demons got off to the perfect start with a goal in the first 45 seconds of the game. It was a tight contest with both teams going goal for goal into the first break. Debutant Liam Thompson giving Perth the hot start in the second quarter by kicking his first goal in colts football. Quayden Roe looked dangerous across half forward, providing Perth with plenty of liveliness around the contest.
It was a positive first half from the Dees, going into the main break down by just 6 points. Defender Daniel Hill entered half time with 17 possessions to his name, using his offensive kicking to break the game open for the Dees.
The Tigers got the start they were hoping for in the 3rd with a quick goal. Liam Thompson again impacting the score board on debut showing the Dees were certainly up for the fight. The Red Legs played out the quarter, but the tigers were too good heading into the final break leading by 21.
The final quarter again went in the way of Claremont, kicking the first 5 of the quarter. The Demons fought back hard in the last quarter with Quayden Roe scoring a much-needed goal, but the Dees just left it a little too late as the tigers were victorious by 41-points.
Perth’s best was Baxter Philip who is continuing to be prove he can be a consistent performer, finishing with 16 disposals on the day. Ben Weymouth showed great leadership and desperation with 11 touches, 13 tackles and a goal. Liam Thompson kicked 2 on debut while Max Mumme was best on for Claremont with 27 touches and 3 goals.
