Futures Season Wrap
Futures Season Wrap
Our Futures held their awards night recently, and what a great opportunity it was to recognise players, staff and most importantly, parents! With a very enjoyable Futures preseason being conducted out of the home of the Kenwick Royals – Mills Park, the night commenced with a presentation to Kenwick club president Neil Clarkson where the Perth Football Club donated a framed Demons Jumper to be displayed in the Kenwick Function Centre. We thank the Royals for accommodating our talent programs and wish them all the best across all grades they compete in season 2023.
The Perth Football Club is very proud to have three players from this year's Futures group selected for the state 16’s team, with the squad playing three official games in the states of Western Australia and Queensland in the coming months. Jadd Hill (30), Dale Sutherland (20) and Cooper Shord (26) were all presented with their Futures jumpers in recognition of their selection, and the Demons family is right behind them. Best of luck, boys.
In what was a very successful 2023 Futures program, the group walked away winning four out of a possible six games. Damian McCague and his coaching staff have done an admirable job in not only developing the players into better footballers but better people as well. The Perth Football Club thanks Damo, along with his assistants Ross Clark, Chris Ryan and Tori Audino. The club also acknowledges the contribution of support staff members Mark Longton, Brad Ralph, Mark Longton, Jos Welsh, Shane Darmody, Ben White, Angela Lefante and Mitch Tiernan.
Congratulations to the 2023 Futures award winners:
Coaches Award – Vadim Bouckaert
Ross Young Leadership Award – Mitch Miles
Troy Cook Courage Award – Kade Smith
Waldock Player of the Year – Dale Sutherland
