GALA HALL OF FAME LAUNCH

The Perth Football Club will start the 2015 season on the front foot by honouring past champions and outstanding officials at the unveiling of the club's Hall of Fame on Saturday March 14 at Lathlain Park.

Thirty-five players and officials will be honoured in the initial intake at a gala dinner to be held under a giant marquee on the oval, where many of the players thrilled thousands of fans with their skills.

The club's board has given the green light for what promises to be a glittering event after a proposal from a sub-committee led by former champion player and Simpson Medallist, Allan Stiles.

In accordance with the Clubs' By-Laws, nominations for Life Membership may now be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer.

Any nominations of a person (who must be a financial member of the club) to be elected a Life Member shall be signed by two (2) qualififed members and submitted to the Chief Executive Officer at least one calendar month prior to the Annual General Meeting. Clem Smith Attends 2014 AFL National Draft Combine

This week young men from across Australia will descend upon Melbourne for the 2014 AFL National Draft Combine.

 

The players will undertake testing and interviews at Etihad Stadium from Tuesday September 30 to Friday October 3 including fitness assessments, psychomotor testing, medical screening and skills tests.  To attend the NAB AFL National Draft Combine, players must be nominated by at least five AFL clubs.

Footy closes in on 200,000 target

The West Australian Football Commission has taken a significant step towards its target of 200,000 participants by 2018 after increasing participation by a further 10.67% this season.

 

WAFC CEO Gary Walton said the growth of WA Football from 164,428 participants in 2013 to 178,651 in 2014 was a crucial step towards ensuring interest in the game was maximised to coincide with the completion of the new Perth Stadium.

Following the recent sad passing of Dr Steve Kargotich, our long standing Club Patron, the Board of Directors have given due consideration to his predecessor. It was unanimously agreed that Peter Gilkison be elected for the role of Club Patron which he has graciously accepted.

East Maddington Gold Win Dockers Cup

The Dockers Cup was held on Thursday September 11 at Coker Park Cannington.

This event was hosted by Vicki Bramwell Keys and Cannington Community College and saw over 160 girls from five schools formed 10 teams to participate in the day.

Some of these teams were East Maddington, AIC Thornlie, Cannington Community College, Forrest Crescent Primary School, Gibbs Street Primary School

South Perth Win Barry Cable Cup

On Friday 12th of September, The winners of the Year 10 competitions in both East Perth (South Perth vs. Mt Lawley) played off under lights at lathlain for the annual Barry Cable Cup,

Barry Cable was in attendance to wish the teams all the best, and also present the winning trophy.

South Perth started the better of the two sides but Mt Lawley toughed it out to still be in the game throughout the first half.

Junior Grand Final Results
