Three in at the Demons as Ugle heads to the Thunder
The Perth Football Club wishes to announce that Gerald Ugle has decided to continue his career at Peel Thunder.
As part of the deal the Demons received Toby Gianatti, Liam McKenna and Kelvin Lawrence.
Gianatti who hails from Mundijong made his debut for Peel in 2012. He managed 12 games that year but so impressive were his performances that he finished third in the best and fairest.
Gianatti is a 24-year-old small defender and has so far accumulated 30 league games.
At the end of last season he placed third in the reserves best and fairest and also received the 2014 coaches’ award.
McKenna is a 22-year-old midfielder from Safety Bay JFC who has played 18 league games and was a member of the 2010 State 18’s Academy.
He won the reserves best and fairest in 2011, finished third in 2012 and runner-up in 2013.
In 2012 McKenna attended the AFL Draft Camp where he performed strongly. He got 75cm in the standing vertical jump (fifth overall), 97cm in the running vertical jump (second), 8.33 seconds in the agility run (seventh), 29/30 in the Matthew Lloyd clean hands test (first), 29/30 in the Nathan Buckley kicking efficiency test (first) and 25/30 in the Brad Johnson goal kicking test.
Lawrence is a 22-year-old forward who was drafted by the Melbourne Demons with pick 48 in the 2010 rookie draft. He spent two years at Melbourne where he played 20 VFL games.
Since coming back to the WAFL he has managed to play 17 league games. Lawrence possesses great speed and evasion, has clean hands and is an excellent kick.
The football club welcomes Toby, Liam and Kelvin to the club and wishes Gerald all the best for the future.
