DEMONS GO DOWN TO LIONS IN PRESEASON MATCH
Reigning Premiers Subiaco easily accounted for an undermanned Perth side on Saturday at Lathlain Park. While the final score of 20 goals to 5 wasn’t too impressive from a Demon’s aspect Perth certainly showed some encouraging signs in the second half.
In warm conditions that saw both sides with plenty of rotations Perth tried plenty of new players out in various positions as they attempt to settle on a line up for their first match in Round 1 against Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval on Saturday March 21.
Players that stood out for the home side on the day were Chris Billings at Full Back with Aiden Tropiano and veteran Chance Bateman also picking up plenty of touches. New Peel recruit Liam McKenna and former Swans Player Brett Wolfenden also showed they should be handy inclusions to the midfield for the season.
With regular league players Dene White, Daniel O’Sullivan, Jarrod Morton, and Jared Irons all playing in the Reserves after an injury interrupted preseason Perth should be able to put out a far more experienced line up in preparation for the new season.
Next week Perth takes on the Sharks at ATOM Stadium in their final preseason match.
