Round 13 Preview Perth V Swan Districts
This week Perth takes on Swan Districts at Lathlain Park.
Last week the Demons went down by 44-points to Claremont while Swans won a hard fought game against East Fremantle by 5-points.
These teams have already met on two other occasions this season. Back in round one Swan Districts won by 96-points and in round 10 Swans recorded a 7-point victory.
Perth will have to nullify the influences of Aaron Elari (averaged 31.5 possessions, 7 marks against Perth this season), Jacob Burnham (22.5 disposals, 7.5 marks), Adam Faulkner (30.5 possessions, 7.5 marks, 5 I50’s) and Matt Riggio (28.5 disposals, 5 marks, 5 I50’s, 1.5 goals) who have all been strong contributors in games against the Demons this year.
Perth currently sits ninth on the ladder while Swans are in seventh position.
Perth (reserves) lost by 10-points to Claremont (reserves) last week while Swan Districts (reserves) won by 48-points against East Fremantle (reserves).
Mitchell Browne (20 possessions, 6 marks, 1 goal) responded well to being dropped, while Scott Doncon (17 disposals, 6 marks) and Brennan Stack (17 possessions, 9 marks, 6 I50’s, 4 goals) also impressed and could come into the team this weekend.
Both these teams have one victory apiece when they have clashed this season with Swans winning by 50-points in round one and the Demons winning by 4-points in round 10.
The Demons are sixth on the table and a win over the fourth placed Swans will see the team jump into the top five.
Perth (colts) surrendered a 22-point half time lead last week to go down to Claremont (colts) by 34-points. Swan Districts (colts) lost by 35-points to East Fremantle (colts).
The Demons are now sixth on the table with only percentage keeping them out of the top five while Swans are third on the ladder.
Swan Districts have defeated Perth both times this season with a 35-point victory in round one and a 22-point win in round 10.
The colts kick things off this Saturday at 9am with the reserves getting underway at 11:30am and the league game starting at 2:15pm.
